IPPT Gender-Wise Scoring

If you are in the Singapore army then you know the ippt is different for male and females. Let’s discuss how IPPT scoring works for different genders in simple terms. because Men and women have different physical strengths. Men have more muscle mass in their upper bodies, while women often have better endurance. The IPPT scoring system recognizes these natural differences while making sure everyone meets the fitness standards needed for their duties.

push-ups

  • Men do regular push-ups from their toes, while women have the option to do knee push-ups.
  • Men need about 60 push-ups for maximum points.
  • Women need about 35 knee push-ups for maximum points.
  • The different styles and numbers account for natural strength variations while still testing upper body endurance.

Sit-ups

  • Men and women do the same type of sit-ups but the expected numbers are different.
  • Men need around 70 sit-ups for top score.
  • Women need around 60 sit-ups for top score.
  • This 10-repetition difference makes the test challenging but achievable for both genders.

2.4km Run

• The running times show the clear timing differences.
• Men need to run in 8 minutes 30 seconds for maximum points.
• Women need to run in 10 minutes 30 seconds for maximum points.
• The 2-minute difference matches typical running speed variations between genders.

How Standards Change With Age

It’s not just about gender – age also affects scoring. The standards become slightly easier as you get older, for both men and women.  A 40-year-old man has different requirements than a 25-year-old man, just like a 40-year-old woman has different standards than a 25-year-old woman. When you use our IPPT calculator, always select your correct gender and age, our calculator will automatically use the right scoring table for you. This gives you accurate results.

Conclusion

The IPPT score chart is your best friend when it comes to preparing for your fitness test. I’ve seen many soldiers use it to transform their performance – from barely passing to scoring gold. The chart isn’t just numbers on paper; it’s your personal roadmap to success.

Here’s the real deal: print this chart and stick it where you train. Before each session, check your stand and what you need to hit. If push-ups are your weakness, the chart shows exactly how many more you need. If running is tough, it tells you the timing to beat.

I remember helping a soldier who kept failing his 2.4km run. We used this chart to set weekly targets – shaving off just 10 seconds each week. Within two months, he went from failing to scoring silver. That’s the power of having clear goals.
